my day job

when i'm not working on photography, my day consists of hanging out with these guys....

this is my 10 month old, corbin. i'm constantly eating on his cheeks and ears, and as a thank you, he drools and slobbers all over everything. i finally figured out it was just easier to throw him in the kiddie pool than try to keep him dry.

here's our rhodesian ridgeback, joey - ch pingora's bazuka joe, to be exact. :)
we've had him since he was 8 weeks old, and he'll be 5 in november. he's a good boy, sleeps most of the day, but is wide awake anytime there's a package of cheese being opened. he hasn't seen the show ring in 3 years - seems to prefer his chair by the front window instead.

and this is my sweet lucy girl... she's two and a half, and loves wearing mommy's old shirts (this was my t-ball jersey from when i was 4 years old - go blue angels!). getting her to actually look at the camera has become a challenge these days... i think it's a combination of her age (hello, terrible 2s!), along with me always having a camera in her face. but on this evening, she was feeling generous, i suppose... maybe it had something to do with us letting her skip her bath and run around the yard in her pj's before bedtime.

i absolutely love photographing my children - it can be challenging, especially when everyone's screaming because mommy's been taking pictures too long and now everyone's hungry. or someone's just turned their head to watch a bug fly by. or the dog walks in between me and the kids, and all i get is a big brown blurr in the foreground..... but then out of the blue, something like this happens - and i'm somehow able to get it. and i love it.
