this time last year...
i thought it would be interesting to re-visit my photos from this time last year, so i went back to march 7th of 2010 and found these sweet close-ups of lucy...
these were shot with my little rebel t1i, and 1.8 lens.
i remember when i first took these shots - i loved them immediately.
now that my eye is a little more critical, it's hard not to be drawn to the flaws (focus points not being directly on the eyes, bright spots, etc).
but then i look again, and i'm instantly brought back to that afternoon - we were in the sandbox, and she thought it was so funny that we were outside, just the two of us, while corbin was finishing his nap. she was covering up her feet with the sand and asking me if i could find them. she wanted me to have a turn burying my hands. she looked up for half a second and genuinely smiled at me, enjoying our little moment together.
the gear is a little better now, and i have a little more knowledge and experience - but the memory is priceless. this is why i love photography.

All in all it is a wonderful picture. I would not have critiqued it quite like you just did, but I do with my own work. We are our own worst critics. It is a beautiful image of Lucy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at it I notice what you pointed out, but only from a photographer's eye. My first thought when I read the blog this morning was oh my look at how little Miss Lucy was. She has gotten so big since this picture. No critique a genuine smile.
Keep shooting you are an amazing photographer and I really enjoy following your work.
