egg hunt

i noticed it a couple of weeks ago, tucked away in the thickest part of our japanese maple.

i watched it every few days, as it got larger and more sturdy, and i was absolutely giddy at the thought of possibly catching a teeny little peek... 

what's better than seeing a cozy little nest filled with tiny turquoise eggs?

hearing the small little gasp of excitement and wonder that came from my daughter when she saw them - and realizing i'd just had that same reaction myself.
