how do lizards keep warm at night?

 it's spring time, which means 

the regers begin naming and kinda sorta adopting

 the random wildlife that show up in our back yard. 

so far we've just had turtles

and a few robins' nests, 

but now we're beginning to see a couple of anoles

hanging around our back deck

(they're those little lizard things that are everywhere).

the kids have decided to name this one francesco,

after the race car in cars 2.

my husband is a pro at catching these guys.

he caught this one, and put him up on the lights

so he could keep warm.

after we put the kids to bed, we checked on him again.

he had moved a little further down the string of lights,

and apparently decided to really warm himself up. :)
