our wedding anniversary is coming up, and check out what came in the mail for us today...

this card is from melissa jill, my wedding photographer from 6 years ago.
i'm amazed at this girl's talent with the camera - i love our photographs from our wedding, but she has grown leaps and bounds in her skills as a photographer and business woman in the last 6 years.

several months after deciding to start a photography business myself (but not really knowing where or how to start), i signed up for melissa jill's workshop, the mj2day. i think i may have been one of the first ones to register for that session - i was so pumped and excited to finally get 2 days of non-stop learning! she not only showed us camera techniques, but gave us 2 days chock-full of business knowledge, album design, client relations, lighting techniques, post production tips and so much more. i left the workshop feeling excited about starting my business, and more importantly, with the tools and knowledge to get it up and running with confidence.

i don't know that i have many readers who are interested in starting their own photography business, but if you are, or you know someone who might be, i'd highly recommend checking out one of her workshops sometime - you won't be disappointed!

and just out of curiosity, anyone still getting anniversary cards from their wedding photographer... ? :)
